To our eyes the Vapids are every bit as quintessential to our bubble as Screeching Weasel, Queers or MTX. They're tight, square and streamlined as all well-crafted power chord-based punk rock should be.
With their though riffs and pumping rhythms they take no prisoners and their songs ooze a compelling sense of urgency. They’re a ticking bomb about to explode.
Jimmy is the mastermind behind the band and he always gives his 110% in everything he does. He’s a true rock ‘n’ roll soldier and a caring human being.
We chose this song because you can’t go wrong with Dee Dee, you know? He’s the unsung poet of rock and Jimmy’s song is a kickass tribute to this tormented soul. He was an army brat, born and raised in a social and emotional vacuum. Yet he rose from this void and he was able to distill his inner loneliness and discomfort in music and words. He’s the king of all the underdogs and his songs will never be forgotten. It’s our duty to keep his flame burning at all times.
